How to Volunteer
Volunteering at The Next Step
The Next Step offers free and confidential services, and we rely on volunteers to help support those services. Volunteers are needed to staff the 24-Hour Hotline, to provide temporary safehomes to women and children in immediate crisis, and to provide court advocacy in protection from abuse hearings.
A free 40-hour training is required of all volunteers who will be doing direct client services. For more information about volunteering, please contact The Next Step Volunteer Coordinator or fill out the form below.
Helping our friends and family live free from physical abuse is only part of the solution to the problem of domestic violence. Heightening community awareness and speaking out about the need to protect victims' rights are critical. Moreover, as role models for the next generation, we must teach our children that the use of violence to resolve problems and control others is
unacceptable behavior.
