At Next Step, we know that victims and survivors of domestic violence sometimes need help with legal issues. Our legal team may be able to assist you with civil restraining orders (including actions based on sexual assault, stalking, and strangulation), family matters arising from situations of domestic violence, and other matters involving situations of domestic violence (including, but not limited to, Probate Matters, Protective Custody Matters, and Small Claims actions. We may be able help you navigate related civil matters like Child Protective Services, and handle TANF/ASPIRE and other social programs.
Next Step advocates may be available to help with legal paperwork and go to court, to provide support in a difficult and stressful situation. Our attorneys may be able to represent you in court, or give advice and counsel on your legal situation.
