A 30th-anniversary campaign to support Washington County survivors and our shelter.

For survivors of domestic violence, a peaceful night is the difference between pain and comfort; distress and calm, voices raised and blissful quiet. Sometimes a peaceful night is an opportunity to think and to be heard by supportive advocates, and sometimes it’s the very beginning of many more peaceful nights to come.

Nights where one is at liberty to think their own thoughts and make their own choices.

Our goal is to give 30 Peaceful Nights to 30 survivors in need of rescue. Will you help us?

WAYS TO GIVE A PEACEFUL NIGHT:

  • When you give $300, you are providing freedom – a safe hotel room to provide refuge with a gas card, diapers, clean changes of clothing – the necessities that make it possible for survivors and children to flee to safety while NextStep works with them to create many more peaceful nights in the days to come.

  • Our wish list* consists of household items we often take for granted. Still, for domestic violence survivors, these basic items can give the comfort of a home-cooked meal around the dinner table, a place to keep clothes, entertainment to distract from life’s worries, and a comfortable bed for a peaceful night.
